THE TREATISE

Economist Mason Branch is swept into a sudden and dangerous investigation searching for a 16th century manuscript that is believed by violent men to have mystical powers. The manuscript is called a Treatise on the Love of God, which was written by St. Francis de Sales in the late 1500s and published in 1616. The book is considered by many to be second only to the bible in modern importance because it clarifies serious misunderstandings in our modern society regarding the subject of love.
His quest takes him from Venezuela to Colombia to Rome, where he experiences many perils and is preserved only by his intellect and miraculous divine intervention. Joined by his associate, roommate, and best friend, Brandt Ethington, and his beautiful Venezuelan Division Manager, Rikki Mintz, he comes to the realization that they are in a fight to avoid world anarchy and the loss of freedom, not only due to corrupt politics but because of modern misperceptions regarding the concept of love.
